Moira Secondary safe and sound

A dramatic day at Moira Secondary in Belleville turned out to be a routine day for a special OPP investigations unit.

Belleville Police were called to the school just after 9:00 this morning in response to a suspicious object found on school property.

City police called in the OPP’s explosive disposal unit and the team concluded by 12:35 that the object was not dangerous.

School board officials say Moira was never in lockdown mode and that students and staff were kept safe during the incident.
