A new, slower speed limit on Wallbridge Loyalist Rd. is now accompanied by a new set of traffic lights at W. Moira St.
Belleville roads supervisor, Chuck Naphan, says one of the most interesting aspects of the project is what we don’t see; all the wires run underground.
Naphan says the intersection also includes the city of Belleville’s first low-energy LED street light.
The project is said to have come in well under the budgeted $100,000, but final figures have not yet been calculated.

So when is Hamilton road getting a set of lights?
Soooo what is the new speed limit??
The new ‘slower’ speed limit is 60km/h, which seems silly on that stretch of Wallbridge Loyalist road as the limits on Moira St West and Hamilton Road remain at 80 km/h.
A roundabout at the Hamilton / Wallbridge road intersection would have a more traffic calming effect than traffic lights.
