By this fall Quinte area residents will be able to get their “shingles” shots at regular Health Unit immunization clinics.
Director of Comuniciable Diseases Wayne Tucker told the Hastngs and Prince Edward Board of Health today that imunization is important and the disease is very painful.
He says it includes a “blistering rash” and creates nerve pain that can last for years.
Tucker says anyone over the age of 50 should consider gettting the vaccine.
After July first the cost will increase from $190 to $200.
