Expect more bikers on Belleville buses

Now cyclists in Belleville have a reason to ride the buses.

Belleville Transit has started putting bike racks on the front of its buses for cyclists who may want to use both modes of transportation.

Transit chair Councillor Jack Miller says it’s a way to  accommodate those cyclists who may want to take advantage of the service.

Miller says provincial approval had to be obtained for each bus route since it makes the buses longer.

The cost is covered by the provincial gas tax.
