The police vehicle coming to Belleville’s Traffic Management Unit will be a little more intimidating and have extra cargo space.
Belleville’s Police services board approved the purchase of a new Chevy Tahoe police vehicle this morning, instead of a Ford Interceptor.
Officials say the Interceptor wasn’t ready for production and there are two Tahoes that are available.
There is a $1,000 price difference between the Tahoe SUV and the four-door Interceptor but it won’t affect the Police Services’ budget.
The new vehicle was needed after a crash involving a police cruiser last year.
