There’s going to be a quick response team to help staff at long term care homes in the Quinte region soon.
30 Registered nurses, and personal workers have been hired across this part of Ontario, and are forming mobile response teams to help calm elderly residents who are acting up because of aging, or illness.
Many elderly people who are causing problems at homes end up going to hospital emergency departments, but with mobile response teams, that won’t happen as much.
Southeast Local Health Integration Network CEO Paul Huras says the teams won’t just be responding to emergencies.
A mobile response team will soon be operating out of Crown Ridge Place in Trenton serving the entire Quinte region.
