The city of Quinte West is throwing its support behind the Slots-for-Racetracks programme.

The programme was discontinued in March by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

Quinte West council last night resolved to support the municipality of Clarington in a request that the government “reinstate and improve” the revenue-sharing agreement.

The goal of the resolution is to “sustain and grow the horse racing industry… to the benefit of our communities”.
