Papineau Lake bush fire continues

The Ministry of Natural Resources continues to monitor a rash of bush fires in the province.

The MNR says 54 new forest fires were reported over the long weekend and there are currently 17 listed as “not under control”.

One of those fires “not under control” is in the Hastings Highlands.

A municipal official says the fire near Papineau Lake is restricted to the bush and houses are so far not in jeopardy.
