Quinte West O-P-P and a local businessĀ are getting set to help raise awareness about hunger this upcoming week.
May 7th-11th is “Hunger Awareness Week” and the O-P-P and Smylie’s Independant in Trenton are holding a food drive in support of local food banks.
Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Smylie’s on Dundas all week… and O-P-P will be trying to “fill their trailer” with food by capping off the week with a food-drive on the 12th from 9:30am until 1pm.
O-P-P say 900-thousand people in Canada have relied on food banks just in the past month… and the need in Quinte is not much different.
