Major lawsuit against Children’s Aid, the OPP

Posted 1 year ago

Mon, May 7th, '12 - 7:18 am

A local tradesman has filed notice of a lawsuit totaling over eight million dollars against the OPP and Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society, among other entities.

Peter Evans, of the Brighton area, was charged with break and enter and sexual assault, among other charges, in 2009.

Last year, in Belleville Superior court, he was acquitted of all charges against him.

In the notice of claim filed in Cobourg Court Friday, Evans claims he has been illegally and maliciously separated from his family by the Children’s Aid Society.

Other organizations named in the $8.5 million suit are the Trenton Christian School, the Attorney General, the Minister of Youth and Children Services, the Quinte West Police board, and two individuals.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

    . . . . sigh. :(

When people fight back, it suddenly costs us all.

Maybe the local Govt had better begin rethinking the whole ‘had in the sand’ mentality.

and what if the allegations were true…. I know of many people who have been wrongfully accused or sexual assault and have been seperated from their families it does not mean you shoudl get rich because of it really sick and twisted….
they are doing their job and yes they may be wrong but it’s riduculous the price people are putting on things now days… that man would never make 8 million dollars in three lifetimes probably… have some common sense

I hope this guy wins. (Comments removed.) Too often we sit back and just accept what is happening to us instead of fighting for our rights.

I have posted this story on facebook for the world to see how corrupt the canadian system is,, all the best Mr Evans you can call me to court for support (Comment removed.)

  14. manders says:

(Comments removed.) I beleive there should be compensation not 8 million dollars worth…. and people are suing for anything these days and the dollar amounts just seem to get higher and higher. and yes unfortunatly “numb nuts” name says it all I do know many people who have been through this.

  15. The Truth says:

So the police and the crown lay multiple charges, some of them extremely serious in nature….pick the guy up…separate him from his family…throw him in jail..make him post bail…put him and his family through a 2 year ordeal that costs him tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees and lost wages..while destroying his name, his reputation and his business….and at the end of of it all not one charge sticks..not a single conviction….and now the police and crown just walk away? ..sorry..but its quite obvious that mistakes were made…big mistakes…this mans rights were trampled over and his life turned upside down… somebody needs to pay large for this one…everyone should remember…this could happen to you next…
