Defence Minister Peter MacKay has apologized after a photo of convicted murderer Russell Williams appeared in a Defence Department booklet.
Williams was sentenced to life in prison in October, 2010 after pleading guilty to killing Corporal Marie-France Comeau and Jessica Lloyd.
Williams was also convicted of two sexual assaults and dozens of fetish break-ins.
The booklet, issued last month, shows Williams sitting among other members of the Canadian military.
Reports say it was taken in February, 2010 — less than a month before he was arrested.
MacKay says it was a terrible mistake to include the photo in the booklet and pledged to call the families of the two murder victims to offer a personal apology.
He has also ordered all copies of the booklet to be destroyed.

I take it no one reviews these things before they publish them? You would thing they would be looking hard at pictures of top brass just to make sure.
Serving 10 years for his conviction of sexual assault. Serving another 10 years for his conviction of forcible confinement. Would the victims of those crimes not be worthy of an apology for this apparent oversight as well?
Uh, what about the other victims?
