The Quinte region has been under a “level one” water warning for over a month.
Quinte Conservation spokesperson, Terry Murphy, says people should try to use at least 10% less water than usual each day because “most of our lakes and streams are at less than half” the level they would normally be at this time of year.
Murphy says rural residents on wells should be the most concerned about their drinking water drying up.
Environment Canada is forecasting a dryer-than-usual summer for southern Ontario.
