“Leash and Scoop” Challenge to begin

Safety is cited as the reason for a local campaign to have dog owners leash their dogs and clean up after them.

The Lower Trent Conservation Authority will launch their “Dogs on Leash Challenge” this Saturday.

Spokesperson Marilyn Bucholtz says conflicts with dogs on their walking trails are nothing new.

Bucholtz says not everyone feels safe around dogs and they want all patrons to enjoy their time at conservation areas.

Bucholtz says staff will help spread the word by appearing at other conservation areas throughout the summer.
