Fireworks Safety Is Paramount: BFD

Victoria Day weekend usually means fireworks and the Belleville Fire Department wants to make you stay safe if you decide to have a pyro show of your own.

Belleville’s Senior Fire Prevention Officer Dave MacMullen says safety should be paramount around all fireworks displays.

Some tips for hosting your own fireworks include, have an open area to light them, keep water or sand close by to put out any fires that may occur and to especially keep a close eye on children who may be using sparklers or just watching the festivities.

In Belleville the sale, purchase and display of fireworks is permitted in the 7 days leading up to Victoria Day and Canada Day.
