Bear sighted in Brighton

A black bear taking a local stroll has stirred up a little excitement in the Brighton area.

The black bear was sighted over the past two days, both in a residential area of Brighton and taking a stroll on the beach in Presq’uile Park.

The unusual visitor was sighted running through a backyard in the Raglan St. area of Brighton then catching some sun on the popular beaches at Pres’quile.

Ministry of natural Resources spokesperson, Yolante Kowalski, says the bear was not causing any real problems and no action was taken.

But Kowalski says staff  did inform campers about the Bear-Wise website and gave them tips on being bear-wise.
