Some land could soon be taken from a Trenton farmer for use by the Canadian military.
An expropriation hearing was held yesterday at the Holiday Inn in Trenton.
A story in the Belleville Intelligencer states that Frank Meyers and his family made submissions in defence of keeping their land which has been in their family for five generations.
A government-appointed adjudicator has until next Friday to file her findings.
The Department of National Defence has been negotiating with Meyers and his neighbours for years but Meyers is the last to hold-out against the take-over.
The military needs the land to build an exclusive training centre for a Joint Task Force.
