Suncor charged in relation to Belleville location

Recently Suncor Energy Products, owner of Sunoco and supplier to Pioneer, was fined $500,000 for communications involving gas prices in Belleville with Pioneer Petroleums Inc.

An investigation by the Competition Bureau found that conversations happened five different times between representatives for both companies in 2007 concerning their pricing in Belleville.

Suncor co-operated  fully with the bureau and agreed to pay a fine of $500,000 in order to put the matter behind it. The company has stated that no further communication concerning pricing has happened.
