Special meeting on Integrity Commissioner report

Posted 1 year ago

Tue, Apr 3rd, '12 - 9:12 am

The recent Integrity Commissioners Report on the workings of Brighton council seem to have had an effect.

Last night, Mayor Mark Walas praised staff, and councillors Martinello and Kerr agreed to meet to iron out personal differences.

Those were problems cited in the Integrity Commissioners Report.

Mayor Walas believes it was a good and necessary report, and one that won’t be ignored.

Brighton council will hold a special meeting on the Integrity Commissioners report for Wednesday, April 11th.

  1. Interested Observer says:

Perhaps the Mayor should have both Councillor Kerr and Martinello meet privately with the Integrity Commissioner and get their issues on the table and resolved once and for all. They need to remember that they are both there to serve the public without letting personal issues get in the way. If they cannot get past this and work together, then neither should run in the next election as clearly they are not being as productive as they should be.
