The damage estimate has been upped considerably after yesterday’s fire that burned down a storage barn and an old house on the Roblin Road.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen says that the damage will total well over $600,000.
A family of 6 was left homeless after the fire, and Victims Services and the Red Cross are helping them.
Chief Whalen praised the work of over 50 firefighters from Quinte West and Belleville fire departments who worked together to get the blaze under control under dangerous, windy, conditions.
The fire started in an outdoor furnace near the barn.
