Jungle Cats coming to Picton

Posted 1 year ago

Mon, Apr 30th, '12 - 10:40 am

It looks as though there’ll be a different look to the Canada Day celebrations in Picton this year.

Prince Edward County council’s Committee of the Whole gave it’s approval to an exemption from a by-law that would allow wild animals to be displayed in downtown Picton on Canada Day.

The various animals would be part of a travelling educational exhibit from the Jungle Cat World Park.

A couple of residents protested the decision, saying it was cruel to have the animals travelling distances on hot summer days.

However, the exemption requested by the Picton Business Improvement Area was approved by the committee.
