Free trees for Hastings

A local group is asking the public to “plant the right tree in the right place”.
The Hastings Stewardship Council says “trees are the lungs of the Earth”.
The council is this month offering free seedlings of native species of trees to residents throughout Hastings county.
Residents of Melrose, Roslin, Tweed, Madoc, Stirling, Marmora Deseronto and Belleville are invited to get their free trees by contacting their municipal offices.
