Firebugs strike west side again

Junk fires continue to occur in the west end of Belleville.

Early last night, 5 large recycle bins at the back of a high rise apartment building at 179 Palmer Road were set on fire.

Belleville firefighters quickly had flames under control and the damage was limited. No one was injured.

Belleville fire officials consider the cause suspicious.

There have been several junk fires set in that part of Belleville in the recent past.
