Housing developers switch water sources

Posted 2 years ago

Sat, Apr 14th, '12 - 8:28 am

Quinte West and Prince Edward County are working together to make servicing a new sub division a lot easier.

Earlier this week, Quinte West’s Public Works Committee recommended that the developers planning a major housing project near Carrying Place be allowed to change the route for it’s water services.

If all conditions are met, the developers of Young Cove, will take their water from the Prince Edward County line at County Rd 64, instead of bringing it up from the Wooler road in Quinte West.

That will shorten the water line, and cut costs, considerably for the developers.

The homeowners will remain customers of the City of Quinte West.
