Come rain or shine, or heat or cold, eighty-year-old Alice Richardson and her walker can be found strolling along the streets of Brighton cleaning up litter to help make her town a beautiful place to live.
She always has a smile and a nice word for everyone she meets along the way and even carries treats for her canine friends.
She is an inspiration to many and that’s why she was chosen as Brighton’s ’Citizen of the Year’ during Saturday night’s Civic Awards Gala.
The Junior Citizen of the Year award went to ENSS student Curtis Germaine who has a lengthy list of accomplishments that make him a credit to both the school and his community.
Other awards went to: Trent Michaud – Outstanding Athletic Achievement, Jack and Alice Eagles – Good Samaritans, Stephanie Bird – Outstanding Achievement in the Arts, Mike and Lori Vanhaarlem – Outstanding Community Service, and Colleen Allchurch for Outstanding Business Achievement.
