Proposed tax hike for Prince Edward

A meeting in Picton today produced only more delays in reached any decisions about the municipal budget.

Prince Edward County mayor, Peter Mertens, says council was finished meeting by midday and agreed to review the material at hand and reconvene on April 16.

Mertens says the tax rate will have to go up if the public wants to keep their services and no other savings can be found.

The current projection for 2012 is a 9.5% tax hike.
