Angry Beaver in liquor license trouble

Posted 1 year ago

Fri, Feb 10th, '12 - 7:45 am

An ACGO suspension notice hangs in the storefront of the Angry Beaver on Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd. at Tucker's Corners. Submitted photo.

A local bar has had its liquor license suspended.

An Alcohol and Gaming Commission Interim Suspension Notice  says the Angry Beaver on Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd. at Tucker’s Corners had its license placed on “Interim Suspension” earlier this week.

An interim suspension means the AGCO is investigating an incident at the bar, which caused them to suspend the license immediately.

The order notes the reasons for suspension as  selling or serving outside prescribed hours, failing to remove evidence of service, offering liquor free of charge, promoting immoderate consumption and permitting drunkenness.

The suspension could as long as 15 days pending an investigation.

Looks like a 3 year old wrote that! Hard to take it seriously.

  2. kates says:

It looks like it was written by a child I agree with Donald.

Because of them serving drinks till 930 am a 23 yr old woman drive the wrong way on the 401 and she lost her life and another young woman as well.

  4. William says:

Must of been written by the owners of the bar then because they were acting like 3 yr olds not following smart serve and LCB rules.

“Because of them serving drinks till 930 am a 23 yr old woman drive the wrong way on the 401 and she lost her life and another young woman as well.”

No, because a 23 year old woman was irresponsible enough to consume copious amounts of alcohol and CHOOSE to get behind the wheel of a vehicle and drive while impaired, there was a collision, which tragically resulted in her death, and the death off another.

Although I agree that the bar should be under investigation, and should have their license revoked if they did not follow the liquour laws, it does not change the fact that the responsibility of the collision is on the woman who chose to drive. Whether they served her until the morning, or had cut her off at 2am, nobody held a gun to her head and forced her to drive. Our society needs to step up, and start placing the blame where it is deserved.

Nice to see jokes are flying regarding this tragic situation. An Innocent person has lost their life and two families are forever changed. But nice to see the only thing certain people care about is penmenship and grammer. WHO CARES!!! This is so typical of the short sightedness in this “city”.

I fell for the poor girl hit by this terrible mishap. Not fair, The Beaver is known for their all nite parties and alot more than just booze. Cannot beleive it was not closed sooner. This could have been avoided. These owners should pay for the rest of their lives.

  12. Mark D says:

This is such a tragedy and could have been avoided. The owner Dave Stall of the Angry beaver is responsible for the actions of his patrons and staff. If proper mandate had been followed then this accident would never happen. The Angry beaver needs to be held accountable for their careless and reckless behaviour resulting in the death of two women. Dave Stall is known for his after parties at the bar that run into the wee hours of the morning. Many fiends of his have confirmed that drugs and dangerous drinking is a regular occurrence on his establishments grounds. It is shamefull. His license should be revoked and he should never be able to work in that business again as he is a threat to our community.

Who cares about how it was written..seriously..2 people lost their lives due to the negligence of the bar owners. They should be shut down, charged and sued.

  14. c.haines says:

holy crap people.. with everything thats there you are complaining about the writing?? I’m sure it wasnt filled out at some desk, but likely on the person’s lap while in a patrol vehicle…plus have to press hard to make carbon copies…some things still have to be done old school. numbnuts is right on…you guys ARE a bunch of nit-pickers
[btw: it is NIT-pickers > derived from someone who had to pick lice nits out of hair]
