Major power interruption for Quinte region

A large section of the Quinte region is still subject to a power interruption until 10:00.

A notice from Hydro One indicates a large area - including parts of Belleville and Quinte West – will have the lights shut out this morning  while crews perform maintenance to the power lines.

The power authority reminds drivers that the outage may affect traffic lights.

It says it is bringing in additional equipment and crews to accomplish the work with the least amount of inconvenience to the customers.

Affected areas include (except small pockets of customers within these boundaries):

• the area located north of highway 401 to Harold Rd north of Stirling, including the village itself
• west to the Trent River
• east to Shannonville Rd incl the area next to highway 37 north to Moira Rd
