Bus Riders Spooked By Strike/Lockout Talk

Posted 2 years ago

Sat, Oct 30th, '10 - 8:58 am

One of the scariest things on the mind of local commuters this halloween weekend is the potential for a transit strike in Belleville.
Good news is… there won’t be one for at least another day.
Members of the Canadian Auto Workers Union and the City sat down for mediation yesterday and the city was able to come up with an “improved offer.”
Not many details have been released but there will be no lockout or strike at this point… and the Union will take a vote on a new offer tomorrow.
There are 24 members who will weigh in on the new proposed deal tomorrow.
