Lost lizard owner finds animal

The owner of a Savannah Monitor lizard, discovered near Madoc this week, has been found.

The animal was picked up by two men while it tried to cross Highway seven on Tuesday night.

It was taken to the Indian River Reptile Zoo east of Peterborough, and was reclaimed by Pam Piszczek of Marmora yesterday. She says the lizard, named Skrappy, was outside with her a month ago when he disappeared. He seems to be okay, despite his time away from home.
