It’s shaping up to be a three horse race for mayor in Belleville. 53-year old Graham Longhurst…..an employee at the LCBO outlet at Bayview Mall has filed his nomination papers to run for the top-job. Longhurst is a resident of Harmony Road in Thurlow and says the city needs unity. He would abolish the name Thurlow and refer to it as Belleville North if elected Mayor.
He takes issue with the current council which he says micro-manages policing costs but spends lavishly on a a new sports complex which many will never use.
Boston Pizza owner Mitch Panciuk filed last week, and, current Mayor Neil Ellis is expected to file his nomination papers next week.
