Tyco and Union to meet over Lockout

A meeting of management and workers from a locked out Trenton company tomorrow.

Kim Ginter of the Communication, Energy and Paperworkers Union says the Tyco Thermal Controls C-E-O and local union officials will sit down tomorrow afternoon.

The 101 unionized employees have been locked out for almost three weeks in a dispute with the company over benefits and vacation time concessions demanded by the employer. There haven’t been any negotiations since the lockout began.

the last thing Quinte West needs is to lose another factory.

Sad these 2 commenters dont know what they are talking about

Last year Tyco posted over 40 billion in profits. How did they achieve this? By taking from the people at the bottom, who actually make the products, to give to the people at the top. Tyco wastes money at horrifying rate and then tries to claw back the losses from the little guy. Not only is it a money issue, it’s also how the workers are treated at Tyco. We need a union. Ask someone from P&G or Electro Cables if they need a union. They would say no, because they are treated with respect. This is not the case at Tyco. And I am willing to bet that reallife is a Tyco manager. “Monkey” is a pet name that our managers have given us. But only someone that works there would know that.

  4. from the front lines says:

Oh ya, don’t forget. It was Tyco that locked the union out of work and refuses to talk. And this isn’t about the managers, it’s about the fair treatment of the workers. But if you want it to be about the managers, tell everyone how much you make and about your raises and bonuses

  5. from the front lines says:

my 18$ per hour is a far cry from your yearly income

Sounds like the Tyco management posting these comments!!! (Oh yeah, learn how to spell REALLIFE, don’t mock tyco workers if you can’t even spell the word “management”. So who’s the dumb monkey?)and don’t compare us to GM and crysler, they where just about broke, last time I checked Tyco’s stock was at $37.21, witch is not bad at all.

despite the scabs, the picket lines remain strong!!!!
The local CEP UNION and MEMBERS Will PREVAIL !!!!!!!

  7. OLD FASHION says:

Call me old fashion but if you folks are not happy with what your bosses are willing to pay you, and feel there is a culture of corporate greed why dont you get of your buts and go work for someone else? Go out and find a similar job that offers the same pay and benefits you are being offered and that requires no education.
I’m sure if you ditched the union your “bosses” could improve your work environment, they could actually reward employees for above average performace instead of years of service!
Hope you have rain coats, looks like a rainy weekend

  8. 00vstar says:

WOW. If everybody was “OLD FASHION” and nobody had any courage to stand up for high paying jobs with benefits, we would all be making $10.25 per hour.

Support the UNION and there MEMBERS!!!!
