It will soon be just so much water under the bridge. Long and sometimes heated discussions on increased water and sewer rates in Prince Edward County are coming to an end. Yesterday, Prince Edward County’s Committee of the Whole recommended Council approve rate increases over the next few years, that would see everyone in the County paying the same rates by 2015. County staff did cost projections showing that the uniform rates in the future would be much less for users in Carrying Place, Consecon, Rossmore and Fenwood Gardens, then if they ran separate systems for themselves. Figures show average water costs for this year at 510 dollars, rising to 701 dollars over the next ten years.
