It may have been a friendly summer visit by the Ontario premier, but Quinte West took advantage of it to push its next big 12-million dollar project. Mayor John Williams took the opportunity of a tour of the YMCA by Premier Dalton McGuinty, yesterday, to make a pitch for provincial funding for a proposed city marina at the mouth of the Trent River. The 380-slip marina would sit at the mouth of the Trent River in Trenton. Premier McGuinty would get a look at those plans later in the day but at the “Y” he just said he could make no “commitment” at this time.
