Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty swept into Quinte West this morning shaking hands and talking with children.
McGuinty was in town to take a look at the new YMCA which the province supported, and to do a few private meetings at the same time. The premier says the province invested in the “Y” not only because it created construction jobs, but because it is a focal point for the community life. He says the recent number of drownings around the province shows the need for swimming lessons such as provided by the facility. The province contributed four-million dollars towards the 13-million dollar YMCA building.
