Hastings-Quinte officials are thanking the “good neighbour” program for helping avoid some touchy situations in social housing. Spokesperson Tracey Logan says the unusual summer heatwave was an “added complication” for tenants this year. Logan says the units don’t have airconditioning and many people have medical problems. The joint Social Services department instituted the good neghbour program more than a year ago with two home visitors. They educate tenants on how to “get along” in the housing units and to make them aware of resources available to them.
