Wayne Drake Loses Battle with Cancer

A Prince Edward County community leader, and a tough man, has finally lost his battle with cancer. Wayne Drake died Monday surrounded by family at Trenton Memorial Hospital. Drake served many years as a member of Ameliasburg Township Council, and later with Prince Edward County Council. He lived in Carrying Place. Drake was 69 years old, and had been battling cancer for several years. He is resting at the Weaver Funeral Home, the West Chapel. Visitation is Thursday afternoon and evening, with the funeral service scheduled for 2 o clock on Friday afternoon.
