The library at Trenton High School will honour one of Canada’s best known poets, and a former Quinte area resident. Principal Darren McFarlane and Teacher Eric Lorenzen spoke to the Hastings-Prince Edward School Board last night about the plan to name the library after Al Purdy. Purdy was a student at T-H-S in the mid-1930′s, and his widow has been involved in the planning. Implementation is scheduled for April 21st of next year, the eleventh anniversary of Purdy’s death.
