The latest Quinte area murder suspect will appear in Belleville court again tomorrow. 19-year old Kadeem Francis was charged with second degree murder and assault in the death of a Mississauga man at Trudeau Park near Tweed over the long weekend. He made a brief court appearance yesterday. The 6-foot-3, 350-pound Francis of Belleville is described by a friend as a “happy go lucky guy” who may have been “caught up with the wrong crowd”. Two other men, one from Pefferlaw and the other from Innisfil Beach, are charged with second degree murder in the case.
28-year old Bradley Van Diepen died at Kingston General after succumbing to injuries suffered in a beating early Saturday morning. If you have information on the incident you’re asked to call Central Hastings OPP.
The Quinte area has been plagued with murders so far in 2010. Colonel Russell Williams was charged in February with the murders of two local women, Dean Brown is charged with the shooting deaths of a mother and daughter in Prince Edward County, Myles Hughes is charged with the shooting death of a man in Belleville, two men were charged with the shooting of a Trenton woman and a man was charged with beating another man to death in Rednersville.

To those cowards responsible for this death, I have a few things to say about your actions and for your future. First of all I hope that all responsible will be brought to justice and be given the maximum penalty for your stupid actions that took our dear friend away. Once you irresponsible goons who cant fight on your own get locked up , I wish your life behinds bars will be long and painful. Unfortunately, here in our country we do not have the death penalty , but you three disgusting wanna be tough guys are the perfect candidate for this penalty. There is absolutely no excuse for your actions, against a human being. Your three are ANIMALS!!!! If alcohol was a factor then maybe you kids should stay home and drink milk until you get old enough to handle your alcohol. For people who are concentrating your remarks through suggested acts of violence against the accused, all you are really doing is proliferating violent actions and attitudes. First of all I would like to say to Brad’s family and friends that I am so very sorry for the loss we are all feeling at this time.
To the people that are responsible for our loss I would like for you to know that I don’t usually condone violence for revenge but I do believe in what goes around, comes around and I strongly believe that at some point in your life you will receive yours.
I hope all that are responsible for the senseless death of Brad will be reminded everyday of the pain and suffering you have caused so many people. Brad was a smart, caring, funny and all around great person and you have taken that away from all of us.

The long weekend festivities at Trudeau Park need to be shut down next year if they can’t provide proper security.

They pay for cops to be there… They also have there own staff running around keeping peoples speed down. Do these sound like acts from people who dont care? I don’t think so. As far as I can see these people are tryring to make it a safer place to let lose and have fun and in no way should be punished for those choices made by those 3 poor excuses for me.

Plain and simple these guys are THUGS… Trudeau is far from a place of violence I have been going there for many years and rarely do you ever see a little scuffle.. And from what a read, bradley was found by leah, so she must have went looking for him, so who nows how long he was lying there. How can you blame anyone but the four involved and the security team at Trudeau Park? I understand they are trying to improve safety but clearly that failed, and in my opinion until they have a better plan the whole weekend should be shut down.

I have seen this guy throw his “weight” around in our neighbourhood. I have witnessed this man waiting in the parking lot of a downtown pub to pick a fight with the first male adult that comes out. If he is the kind gentle friend that people are portraying, why didn’t he offer a hand to stop the insanity of the beating I believe this guy used to be employed as a boucer (could be mistaken) did he chose to contribute to the demise of this poor man’s life or did he help out a neighbour in need. He made his choice, and with that comes the consequence. Brad didn’t have a choice, it was made for him. To consequence a man to death because he looked at you funny, and to inflict pain and suffering upon family is nobodys choice to make. Trudeau parks security is suppose to be there to prevent this stuff from happening. Nobody was around, Brads girlfriend was the one who found him. There is a flaw in the parks security, what happened that night could have and should have been prevented. I really believe that the staff didnt do anything to help Brad until it was too late. More people die a havlock from heat stroke! And what it should be closed because there were not one paramedic for eavh person?
I will tell you how I know some of you haters were not there…
first of all out of the trudeaus pocket there were like a hundred of security people there from knights on guard who I might add did a terrible job or better yet nothing at all. Also there are 50+ police which comes out of there pocket not to mention there own staff security. You think there can be someone everywhere at every given moment then you are even more of a moron then I thought.
I personally feel terrible for all involved… from the family that had thier son taken from them to the people who will probably not get to go ever again and the trudeaus who have to live with the pain aswell. all because some group of guys have something to prove? This black guy I know personally is a moron and tried to fight some of my friends over a stripper once… he is no good and is where he deserves to be for the rest of his fat no good for notihng life.
Holy. After reading all of that I feel like I just wasted part of my life. You all need to stop and think. Stop pointing fingers and trying to lay blame somewhere. Maybe those guys are idiots, DUH! Maybe security weren’t super-heros…Belleville isn’t breeding wierdos, the problem isn’t WHERE it happened, the problem is WHY it happened…whatever the case somebody who a lot of people care(d) about is now dead. Why don’t you all try doing something productive other then bashing one another on the internet. Metaphorically you are all doing the same thing those “thugs and goons” were doing, bullying one another.
Someone once told me “They don’t need your tears, they need your help.” So start helping, in whatever capacity you can. Because one person can make a difference.

My comment is directed at those that feel security and park staff didn’t fulfill their job requirements.
There is alot of inaccurate information going around, and people are all welcome to their own opinions. For those that are commenting however, regarding the Trudeau’s and their May 24th Park Party; I sincerely hope you have attended at least 1 hour of the event, before laying out your comments (again, regarding park staff, security (on site/hired),police and those ALL involved in making the event a susccess).
People are all curious and want details regarding what took place that fateful morning. As would anybody with a sense of wonder, but let’s be serious here and get the facts. Not reported by a reporter or “hear say” from so and so. Detectives are doing their job and like any other unfortunate circumstnce, Party in the Park or otherwise not everyone IS/ARE privy to every detail. Frustrating, yes. Reality, yes.
People have alot to say regarding the security there. It was Trudeau’s first year hiring an outside company to help with the grounds. Like any new “project” in life, it takes a few try’s to get all the kinks and work effectively to ensure every part of a party this big goes according to society’s expectations. Security may not have met every person’s expectation that weekend, again, dig for facts. How long was this company hired for? 24hrs round the clock, 12 hour increments or your standard 8 hrs shift? Only night time festivies? How many guards were hired (I assure you it was not 100)? Etc…
Again, those that want to scrutinize security for the way everything was handled that fateful weekend, make sure you put the pieces together before assuming something you ideally have no solid information about.
If a client hires basic numbers, for basic time frames, every hour of everyday cannot be pressumed “covered” by security. Everyone assumes it was security’s responsibility to keep everyone safe and in control of them selves, it was an event with every possible liquor infraction known to man going on inside. *That said, I would have to say and factually, 95% of patrons there complied with every request security made upon them.
Security also, has an obligation to go by what that client wants and requests. Perhaps the client only gave certain/specific deatil of duties and specific hours to these individuals.
Regardless of how much, how many, who found, who stopped, who didn’t, why wasn’t there any etc, etc….a young man lost his life for something rediculous. Could it have been prevented? Perhaps. Was there a chance for him to be found sooner? Absolutely. Would it have changed the outcome of his injuries? No.
I only ask that those that are passing judgements on security (on-site/hired), speak of what are actual facts. Not facts based on the fact that you were not present during that weekend, or an opinion of that because you simply didn’t like a position of authority new to your fetivites.
Considering the volume of people in attendance, the area or size of the park, the acts of drinking and driving involved; the park is relatively a secure party.
We can go on on about shutting it down and how “it was an accident” waiting to happen. Nothing changes except the future and what the actions will be from this time point on.
So the next time someone wants to comment on the security (good or bad), take a second and really think about: What times they arrive/off duty/leave? How many guards were there for the area? How were you treated during the course of your stay? Etc.
Security cares about everyone’s well being during these events~if they didn’t, they would be enjoying the fun in the sun along side you.
Again, dig…. Facts, please….

I never once said the park organizers didn’t have security, what I said is if they can’t hire security that can handle 4 people then the whole event needs to be shut down.
I have been to the park in the past, and I honestly stopped going because it started to get out of control. I don’t care how nice the family is, I don’t care how much they try… all I care about is them hiring the right people and they clearly did not do that.
Get off your all mighty high horse Trudeau for Life! and take note that someone died when the right staff of people could of stopped the fight before it got out of hand.
as another friend of Brad and Leah and their families let me tell you Brad was not alone that horrible morning he was with a friend who was also beaten by that useless Kadeem. Thats why he has the extra charge of assault. Instead of stopping after beating on one guy he had to join the other MF’S in beating Brad. This young man had to witness this beating and the death of his friend as did Brads other friends when when he able to get to them to come and help. They all watched him die in that park. Then Leah had to watch it again that night at the hospital with her family and Brads family. No one will understand the lasting lifetime effect this will have on these kids. The guilt for not being there to help. All the what IFS. The sleepless nights they have. THERE IS NO FORGIVNESS FOR THESE BASTARDS. They have taken the life away from not just Brad but from many who loved him.
To Casey Trudeau it took great courage on your part to attend Brads funeral last weekend with your Family. You helped to answer questions the family had and I thank you for that.
Thank you also for what you did for Brad that day. Your tending to him helped keep him with us a little bit longer.

You mentioned you have stopped going to Trudeau’s May 24th weekend as it has gotten out of hand in the last few years. I am asking, “How can you be sure security ‘didn’t do their job’”?
If you weren’t there to see first hand what their role was then how can you comment? Just because a friend went there, got drunk beyond a reasonable fault and told you security didn’t do anything? I would think most people that were there that weekend do not recall most of their own actions let alone someone else’s or security’s.
I mentioned also, to get your facts before commenting. If you want to open up a can of worms lets~ let’s say the proper “officials” WERE notified about these individuals and what they chose to do with that information was left in their hands. What would your comment be then?
So get your facts straight and show a little respect for those that take on these jobs when others wouldn’t.

If the security was not there does it matter if they are the right ones? lol dude you cant have one security preson to stand beshide every person in the park and watch them all day long to make sure they do not get out of line. Bottom line is that they just didn’t happen to be at that spot at that time. Another thing is just cuz you are to much of a pussy to go there does not make it a bad place or the staff/secuity/cops unable to do there job. It could happen anywhere anytime any place. I do admire Casey for what he did and continues to do with this situation aswell. You are quick to slam the staff and owners without thinking about how it may have affected them aswell. Stop trying to get your two mins of fame by spouting off about something you have no idea about being you were not there…..
EVERYONE IS INNOCENT UNITL PROVEN GUILTY. Many have already decided on guilt without knowing anything but what the OPP have told us. I wasn’t there; many of you leaving comments were not at the scene when this happened. Let’s have the facts come out in a trial, let the justice system work without pre-judging based on POLICE information of what happened. I’ve been falsly accused before, based on bad info given to police. Can one imagine the quality of information gathered at a place like trudeau park?

IUPG i agree to the fact innocent until proven guilty, but in this case these 4 men were seen doing this by Brads friend that was with him, he also got punched by kadeem when he was trying to break the fight up….the ultercations started when everyone arrived at the park as well, so right from the beginning they had it out for Brad.
Brad just didnt misteriously get beat to death by noone, all 4 people contributed.
and i Have a funny suspicion that this time the justice system will pull through in this matter for many reasons, maybe these guys didnt mean to beat brad to the point of death..but it happened, its done, its over and now they have to deal with it..maybe they shouldnt of tried to be such tough guys in the first place.
