East Northumberland Secondary School track and field project may get Quinte West donation

Quinte West Council has two different opinions about donating money to the proposed track and field project at East Northumberland Secondary School in Brighton.

Murray Ward Councillor Jim Harrison asked for a suspension of the rules to get the motion on the table defering the request for 50-thousand dollars a year over three years to the Finance Committee.

The resolution passed, but Trenton councillors Bob Wannamaker and Doug Whitney weren’t in favour of helping E-N-S-S, even though Murray councillor Jim Alyea said most Murray high school students go there.

Mayor John Williams says there is very little money available in next year’s budget for funding requests made by numerous organizations.
