It appears there is lots of support for the new police building on the Tyendinaga Territory.
The Mohawk Band Council has released the results of a community referendum, asking people if they wanted the new station.
15 hundred on-territory members, over 16 years old, were surveyed. 371 of 427 proper responses support the new building, and 51 were against.
Several attempts to install the station last fall were stopped by people protesting the expenditure of band council money on the facility, rather than on other projects.
