The first week of the deer hunting season north of Kingston hasn’t produced the kind of phone call Belleville Police were hoping for.
Police distributed information about missing city man Calvin Vanness before the hunt began on November third, hoping to hear from hunters who might find a clue about what happened.
The 66-year-old left his Palmer Road home in late March, to drive to his brother’s house in Arden, but he never arrived, and his car was found parked at a car pool lot off highway 4-0-1 in Kingston a few days later.
Belleville Police Detective Peter Goulah says no tips have been received from any hunters. He says he knows there are still people who have information about what happened to Vanness after he left Belleville, and he’s asking them to call police.
